There's a lot of throwbacks floating around these days. Old television shows & movies are being remade, kids are wearing crop-tops, bell-bottoms, and feather earrings, and there's a real interest in the look & creations of local artisans. These trends are also translated into the home during this new era of Boho & self-expression. Inspired by the styling's of Joni Mitchell & today's flower child, Vanessa Hudgens, we've pulled together some suggestions for we would guess these style icon's have designed their bohemian bungalows.
To perfect a flower-child home you'll need a mix of textures (woven pieces, leather, ceramics, metal), and natural elements (wood, soft fibers, seagrass). Natural elements create a neutral or primary color, color palette which is set to a white wall backdrop. Rooms are filled with indoor gardens, bold geometric patterns, and plush shag or woven rugs. Like in the 70's, this style is an embracement of comfort & craftsmanship. The free spirit of this look is cozy & familiar, so it's easy to understand why there's such an interest in bringing the Boho-look back!
All of these pieces are available though Westend Interiors, most available in our stores & can be shipped. Please contact us for more details or samples of how to design your boho space! Find us at http://www.westend-interiors.com/ or give us a call - 803-794-5010.
